Looking Ahead

  1. We didn't really need to do the trial runs.

The cafe has turned out to be viable and popular with residents and visitors. Two from Scotland who were on their way home and stopped to see us. Two drivers, delivering for a famous supermarket, smelt the food and tried it.

The atmosphere is great, with lots of friendly chatter all round.

You might even meet new people.

What's it like, really? Well, trot along and find out. You get a warm welcome and good service, including being "waited on."

The food on offer is all home-made and definitely "moreish," whether it is cakes, sandwiches or cooked in our new oven.

It's safe too, because we have been awarded 5 stars  *****  by the Food Hygene Inspector.

Now we have a reputation to keep up with. You can help us do that by coming along on the first Saturday of each month.

  2. Kilmersdon Village Hall

We held three Pop-up cafes during July/August in the Village Hall and were really pleased to see so many “customers”. The weather enabled us to have a few tables outside and to sell ice creams and lollies to families using the playing field. It was really lovely to meet so many people from the village as well as those just passing by.

It felt very much a community event - the team received lots of nice comments as well - so the Committee have decided that they will run a Pop-up cafe every month (excluding December). Our next café will be on Saturday 18 October with a further one on Saturday 15 November – see ourposters.

It was quite clear that these wonderful cakes were a particular success so a big "thank you" goes to the WI and other cake makers for their generous donations.

To run a monthly café we would need some more volunteers to support theCommittee. If you are able to help – two hour shifts could be arranged – pleasecontact the secretary on [email protected]

Thank you.Kilmersdon Village Hall Management Committee
